Our Story
Joanna’s Family Restaurant began with a simple mission: to bring people together through great food and genuine hospitality.
It’s the heart of a family dream that started over a decade ago. The story begins with the Puga family: Oscar Puga and his parents, Mauro and Maria, who brought their shared love of cooking and hospitality to life when they opened the very first Joanna’s in Goshen, Indiana back in 2012. What started as a small-town diner quickly gained a loyal following thanks to generous portions, made-from-scratch meals, and a welcoming atmosphere that felt like home.
As word spread, the family expanded their vision to include two Fort Wayne locations—on W. Jefferson Blvd and Leo Crossing— and also a location in Auburn, IN – serving hearty breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and classic American dinners every day of the week. Serving a little bit of everything, we like to say it’s a menu that really connects with people —and our idea that good food and friendly service go a long way when it’s done right.
Joanna’s menu is full of crowd-pleasing favorites, including the popular Joanna’s Skillet—a hearty mix of steak, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, hash browns, and melted pepper jack cheese, topped with two eggs your way. And if you’re in the mood for something different, don’t miss their all-you-can-eat Friday night fish special, a local favorite in Auburn that keeps guests coming back week after week.
For the Puga family, running Joanna’s is about more than just meals—it’s about building a place where every guest is treated like family. That’s why each location is open seven days a week, offering consistency, comfort, and great food in every community they serve.
A dream of creating a cozy neighborhood spot where families, friends, and coworkers could gather for classic homestyle meals made with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love. What started as a single diner-style location quickly became a local favorite, leading to the opening of two more family-friendly restaurants to better serve our loyal guests across Northeast Indiana.
